Crate Training – How To Crate The Puppy

Teaching the crate training to your puppy as soon as possible is the best way to have a well behaved dog will be. This crate training also make you the owner to be the leader that control the puppy behavior and schedule everyday on crate training. The reason why crate training must be taught to puppy is because naturally puppy loves crate training. Puppy or dog love to have their own den as a place to sleep, to feel secure and no harm from others, to stay alone and playing while being leaved by the owner for quite a time.

First on crate training you need to buy a crate large enough for your puppy to stand, turn around, and lay down without getting his muscles cramped during crate training. The material must be a strong one so on crate training it doesn’t break up and crate training must begin from the very start with diiferent crate. Put a sleeping pad in the crate that will make puppy feel comfortable inside which make the crate training easier if puppy like to be inside te crate.

Next on crate training is to get the puppy associate the crate as good place to get into and stayed. You can start crate training by putting their meal inside the crate in the meal time. Let puppy get inside by their own during crate training and having their meal inside with the door open. Don’t close the door at the first attempt on crate training, It will make puppy panic and fear to get inside later on crate training.

After few days time to get next level on crate training. Make them feel like to get inside the crate on their own during crate training. In this level of crate training you can start by putting treats in front of the cage and let puppy have it. Put it depper into the crate everytime you doing this crate training. When puppy get inside the crate say the command such as “Inside Crate!” to make crate training success.

After few days of crate training try to close the crate’s door and leave the room for about 10-20 second, come back and praise him when inside and letting them out quietly for eliminating but don’t praise him when getting out during crate training. It will make the dog or puppy think it is good to go out from crate. It is not the purpose of crate training.

Never crate the puppy more than 3 hours it will make puppy waste inside the crate. When this happened on crate training just clean the create without complaining and don’t let puppy saw you clean it. Never use the crate as punishment on crate training.

Put puppy toys and some treats inside the crate so puppy will not getting bored and doing something bad like chewing and barking. With this crate training you will be able to leave your dog when going for short time or when travelling outside town. With this crate training puppy or dog will not feel the separation anxiety and fear problems of something new like vet’s office or boarding kennels. This crate training make puppy or dog think you always return for them and you always do on crate training. So there will be nothing to fear for them.
