Teaching the sit command when train a dog is the most important and usefull training for the dog or puppy. It is quite simple to train dog or puppy to understand the sit command. The key is using treats, especially dog’s favorite food. Other treats also work for train dog the sit command such like chewing toy.

First of all on train dog the sit command, bring the dog or puppy into a quiet room that free from distraction that can disturb the dog during the train dog activity. Start the train dog activity by taking the treat and hold it in your hand and let the dog know you are holding it. Bring treat slowly above the dog’s nose so the dog or puppy can sniff the treat.

The next stage on train dog, when the dog naturally sit down praise him with positive word like ‘good dog’ or ‘good boy’ and give him the treat. If they don’t react well, such like jump on you don’t give him the treat. It will make the dog understand that he will be rewarded just if he behaved during the train dog activity.

Repeat the train dog activity untill the dog learn the meaning of sit command when you tell him to. When the dog get used to with the sit command in quite room, train the dog in different location. Some place with some distaction will be good, so it will make the dog more focus on train dog sit command activity at nowhere.
